President's Message On Behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors, I would like to wish the membership a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day. This is always a great and busy day at our club. The membership side will open at 11:00 A.M. The function hall will open at 6:00 P.M. featuring Tin Can Hooley staring at 7:00 as-well as the Mary Heavey Quinn Academy of Irish Dance kicking off at 7:30 followed by The Kevin Barry Bagpipers at 8:00. The band will continue until 11:00 the price of admission will be $10 - you can also reserve a table of ten for a $100. As always, a quick reminder that this is an open house event so the State’s no smoking ban will be in effect. Another note, per the request of the membership, we will be looking to put together a meeting with the “older” members to see on ways to improve and draw more members to the club. We will be looking to do this in a similar fashion as we did when we had the meeting with the younger members. I will coordinate a morning in April with Billy Hart to use the kitchen and hall, as well as Scott Norris and “The Crew” to provide the breakfast. It was worded as “older members” and I don’t want to associate a number value with that - so feel free to attend.Brendan SmithPresident Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Chairman’s Message As incoming Chairman of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend my thanks to my fellow Board Members for their vote of confidence in electing me to the Chairmanship position. I am very enthusiastic about the upcoming year and I firmly believe that, with the entire club membership working in tandem, we can make significant improvements to the club over this next year and, hopefully, increase our membership rolls. I would encourage anyone that wants to get involved in any of the committees, to please contact any of the officers. I want to thank Butch Russell for a great job he did as Chairman of the Board and welcome our outgoing President; Dennis Leonard as a new member of the Board. Dennis brings a lot of knowledge and stability to the board and we are all very happy to have him. I would also like to congratulate my son Brendan Smith for becoming President of The Irish American Club. I can tell you this, we don’t always see eye to eye but, I know Brendan and I hold the best interest off the club in our hearts and that is what matters. The best of luck to you Brendan in your Presidency. As Chairman I will be working closely with the other Officers and Directors in exploring new ways to advance our club. I encourage anyone with suggestions on improving the club to contact me directly and I will be happy to discuss ...
